Operations Director (Worcester)

The Be The Change (BTC) Group is seeking to appoint a Worcester Operations Director. The main scope of this role is to ensure the successful day-to-day running of BTC’s two successful existing Worcester venues; additionally, the insight this individual will have on the running of these venues will help inform BTC’s overall growth & development strategy, leading it to further increase its reach in Worcester & beyond.

This role would be a full-time position over 5 days per week (including evenings & weekends), with a base compensation of £31,200 per year with the potential of up to £5,200 per year in additional bonuses. The role would be subject to all of BTC’s usual staff benefits including tips (in the case of this role, this would probably amount to around £1,740 annually based on current levels), pension, annual leave, significant staff discounts & other benefits.

The ‘Be The Change’ Group- a background

Be The Change Foods & Be The Change Hospitality, are limited companies, formed by Anthony Chesher & Zoe Chesher in 2017 & 2021 respectively. 

The vision of the companies is to normalise compassionate living.

Be The Change’s mission is to help achieve this vision by disrupting the hospitality, retail & food sectors in the local area, serving as a tangible example of a 100% ethical vegan business that is thriving, is profitable, has a large & diverse customer base & a fantastic reputation. 

Be The Change Foods started as a small one-floor cafe/restaurant with 4 tables & 2 part-time members of staff in April 2018. The business served sit-in customers only, for 6 days & 2 evenings per week. At the time of writing, The ‘Be The Change’ Group now operates from 2 city-centre premises: A 25-seater cafe/bakery, where thousands of bakes are produced each week; and a 70-seater full-licensed restaurant, serving hundreds of customers a week, for sit-in, collections & deliveries. Both premises are open 365 days a year, employing over 25 members of staff.

Moving forwards, it is important to acknowledge that Be The Change is an incredibly ambitious enterprise. This ambition is fuelled by the injustices that go on in the world every day, particularly against sentient non-human animals.
